PCOS and Infertility
PCOS short for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome is a medical disorder involving metabolism problems and hormonal imbalances.
This condition does not necessarily lead to infertility but it does impact the ovaries. One might conceive with existing PCOS. However, PCOS is a recurring cause of infertility.
The existence of PCOS does not necessarily mean that it's impossible for a woman diagnosed with it to conceive, but many women do need to seek help from a fertility doctor.
Being a very common and recurring cause of infertility in women, the probability of getting pregnant with PCOS using fertility treatments is very high.
Following are some of the symptoms of PCOS.
Irregular or none periods.
Polycystic ovaries (seen on ultrasound).
Easy weight gain, Obesity, or swollen belly.
Abnormal hair growth on the face, stomach, chest, or back.
