Low Ovarian Reserve / Low AMH Levels
In simple terms, every woman is born with a finite number of eggs, and "ovarian reserve" refers to how many eggs you have left. As you age, this number naturally decreases. We use the AMH (Anti-Müllerian Hormone) test, a simple blood test, to assess your remaining egg supply. Lower AMH levels can indicate fewer eggs than expected for your age.
How you might notice it (Symptoms):
Often, there may be no noticeable symptoms, which is why the AMH test is crucial. Sometimes, you might observe changes in your menstrual cycle, such as shorter or closer periods.
Impact on Pregnancy:
With fewer eggs, your chances of conceiving each month decrease, and the quality of the remaining eggs can also be a concern.
How We Can Support You:
While we can’t create new eggs, our focus is on helping you maximize the use of your existing eggs. Options include:
- Tailored IVF: We customize IVF treatments to help you retrieve the best quality eggs from your ovaries.
- Donor eggs: In cases of very low egg supply, using eggs from a donor can offer a hopeful path to pregnancy.
